Visiting the laboratory

In order to make your visit at our laboratory faster and more convenient, we encourage you to visit our service centers after 12.00 when there are noticeably less patients.

Blood can be drawn anytime during the day for most of the laboratory tests, except those which require fasting or if your doctor has given other instructions.

Tests, which require fasting:

  • High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol
  • Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol
  • Triglycerides
  • Glucose
  • Glucose tolerance test
  • Insulin
  • Insulin resistance index HOMA
  • Intact Proinsulin
  • Iron
  • Folic Acid
  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin B1
  • C peptide
  • Gastrin
  • Somatotropic (growth) hormone
  • Insulin-like growth factor IGF1
  • Bile Acid
  • Free Fatty Acids
  • Beta CTx

Fasting means that the last meal was had in the previous evening (approximately 12 hours prior to sampling). In the morning before sampling only water is allowed be consumed.

For correct interpretation of the results, blood for the Cortisol test should be drawn before 10.00 or between 16.00 and 20.00.

If urine has been collected in a container without preservative, it should be transported to the laboratory as soon as possible.

The time of your visit does not affect the time of reporting. The results are reported in 24 hours (except for the tests which are not performed on a daily basis or the testing process is longer than one day).
